North Karnataka recorded some of Karnataka’s highest temperatures in the latest 24-hour period, with Raichur registering a maximum of 35.8°C and Kalaburagi recording 35°C, according to district-wise data released by the Karnataka State Disaster Management Centre.
The readings were recorded even as parts of the state are in the monsoon season. Yadgir recorded 34.9°C, while Vijayapura reached 34.2°C. Ballari recorded 33.8°C, followed by Koppal at 33.5°C and Vijayanagara at 33.3°C. Bidar recorded a maximum temperature of 33°C.
Other districts in the Kalyana Karnataka and Kittur Karnataka regions also reported maximum temperatures above 33°C. Bagalkot recorded 33.7°C, Haveri 33.6°C, Belagavi 33.2°C, Gadag 33.1°C and Dharwad 32.5°C. In central Karnataka, Davanagere recorded 33.4°C and Chitradurga 33°C. The latest readings in the region were lower than those in Raichur and Kalaburagi but remained above 30°C. The data provides a district-level snapshot of the uneven temperatures recorded across the state.
Coastal Karnataka also reported warm conditions. Dakshina Kannada recorded 33.1°C, Udupi 32.5°C and Uttara Kannada 32.2°C. In the Malnad region, Shivamogga recorded 31.3°C, Hassan 31.2°C and Chikkamagaluru 30.8°C, while Kodagu recorded 29.3°C.
Several districts in southern and eastern Karnataka recorded temperatures in the low-to-mid 30s. Chamarajanagar recorded 34.1°C, Mysuru 33.3°C and Mandya 33.2°C. Kolar and Bengaluru Rural each recorded 33.2°C and 31.8°C respectively, while Bengaluru Urban recorded 31.9°C. Bengaluru South recorded 32.7°C.
Tumakuru and Chikkaballapur each recorded 32.5°C, according to the district-wise figures. The spread of readings shows variation between the state’s regions, with the highest maximum temperatures concentrated in northern districts and lower readings recorded in parts of the Malnad region.
