Russian technology companies are showcasing transport digitalisation, medical equipment, robotics and industrial products at the first InnoProm India International Industrial Trade Fair in New Delhi, as India and Russia seek to expand economic cooperation ahead of the BRICS Summit.
The trade fair is being held from September 9 to 11, alongside the BRICS business forum scheduled a day before the grouping’s summit. Companies from Moscow’s hi-tech industrial sector are participating through a collective stand and are expected to hold discussions with potential Indian customers and partners.
Maksim Liksutov, Moscow’s deputy mayor responsible for transport and industry, said the city was supporting stronger trade and economic relations with India. Moscow accounted for 45% of Russia’s total trade with India during the first half of 2026, while the city’s exports of engineering products to India increased fivefold during the same period, according to figures cited in the report.
The participating companies include firms from the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone and other industrial institutions. The Institute for Scientific Research Microelectronic Equipment Progress is displaying a high-precision geodetic collaborative platform. NEX-T is presenting liquid-crystal-module-based products, including the Next One all-in-one computer and the Next Panel interactive educational system.
Moscow’s Scientific and Productive Centre Echoplus is showcasing AVGUR-ART, a phased-array ultrasonic flaw detector. Transtelematica is displaying transport digitalisation products, including the MTT Arm computing unit, which is designed to integrate and control vehicle systems, and a BIO validator for biometric fare payments.
Robopro is exhibiting Doka collaborative robots intended to automate repetitive and routine industrial processes. The technologies on display cover several components of the built environment and urban systems, including public transport operations, vehicle management, industrial inspection and automation.
Anatoly Garbuzov, head of the Moscow government’s department of investment and industrial policy, said Moscow was also supporting joint investment and infrastructure projects with Indian partners. He cited an agreement signed after the 2026 St Petersburg International Economic Forum with an Indian pharmaceutical company to localise medicine production at the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone.
The trade fair comes as India and Russia attempt to broaden commercial ties beyond energy. Bilateral trade has risen sharply in recent years, driven largely by India’s purchases of Russian oil, but the trade balance remains a concern for India. Indian exports account for about $5 billion of total two-way trade estimated at approximately $60 billion.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said deeper economic cooperation would be discussed during a bilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. The agenda, he said, would include increased investment by Russian companies in India and new initiatives involving nuclear energy and critical minerals.
The New Delhi trade fair will continue through September 11, providing participating companies with an opportunity to pursue commercial discussions and potential technology partnerships with Indian businesses and institutions.
