Chandra Layout Main Road, located in front of the National Flag pole, will be named Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi Circle under the decision. A 200-metre-long cross road extending westwards from East Chord Road to 1st ‘G’ Cross in Subbanna Garden will be named Buntara Sangha Road.
The proposed changes were reported by Deccan Herald on Wednesday. The decision places the two roads within a formal civic naming process, under which members of the public can submit objections before the deadline.
Objections can be submitted to the Commissioner’s Office at the IPP Centre, 16th Cross Road, Kodandaramapura, Malleswaram, Bengaluru. The deadline for submissions is October 7.
The first proposed name applies to the road identified in the report as Chandra Layout Main Road, in front of the National Flag pole. The proposed name is Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi Circle.
