CIDCO has received 4,180 applications for 4,793 homes reserved for economically weaker sections under its latest housing scheme in Navi Mumbai, with the final lottery list scheduled to be published on September 10.
The scheme, announced on August 15, covers homes in the Taloja, Kharghar and Kalamboli nodes. CIDCO said the registration process was completed on September 3. The authority has described the response as positive and said the scheme will give eligible applicants an opportunity to purchase homes at affordable rates in planned areas of Navi Mumbai.
The preliminary list of applicants was published on the CIDCO Homes website on September 4. Applicants can submit objections to the preliminary list until September 8. The final list for the lottery will be released on September 10, after which information about the draw process and subsequent steps will be made available through CIDCO’s official website.
The homes are intended for beneficiaries who meet the eligibility conditions prescribed for the economically weaker section category. CIDCO said eligible beneficiaries may also receive assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban, subject to the scheme’s guidelines and eligibility criteria. The subsidy is expected to be available until September, according to the information released by the authority.
Taloja, Kharghar and Kalamboli are among Navi Mumbai’s developing nodes, where infrastructure and connectivity expansion is under way. The locations form part of CIDCO’s planned urban development area and have been included in the authority’s housing programmes for residents seeking homes in the wider Navi Mumbai region.
Ashwin Mudgal, vice-president and managing director of CIDCO, said the response reflected citizens’ aspiration to own homes in Navi Mumbai and their confidence in CIDCO’s planned development. He said the authority was committed to providing affordable and quality housing in planned areas while extending the benefits of improving infrastructure and connectivity.
The immediate next step is the closure of the objection window on September 8. CIDCO is expected to publish the final list of eligible applicants on September 10 and provide details of the lottery and later procedures on its official website.
