The Maharashtra government plans to build a six-storey state guest house near Mumbai Airport in Vile Parle, with 39 rooms and parking capacity for 42 vehicles, following a review of the proposed design by Minister Jaykumar Rawal on Wednesday.
The proposed Nandgiri State Guest House will include four basement levels and is intended to provide accommodation for guests visiting Mumbai from different states. The plan was presented at a meeting chaired by Rawal, with officials from the protocol department and the Public Works Department in attendance.
According to the proposal, the building will have a reception area, a waiting room and 39 guest rooms, including executive and presidential suites. The first floor is planned to contain two conference rooms, a boardroom and a main kitchen, along with general and private kitchen facilities.
Guest accommodation is proposed from the second to the sixth floors. The plan also includes facilities intended to address guest security and operational requirements. Rawal instructed officials to provide separate accommodation within the building for drivers and security personnel.
The meeting was attended by Rajesh Gawande, secretary of the protocol department, and officials from the Public Works Department. Architect Raja Adare presented the proposed building plan to the department and minister.
Rawal sought detailed information about the design and issued instructions relating to security facilities and the accommodation of drivers and security staff. He also directed the officials to submit the final plan soon and complete the next stage of the construction process quickly.
