HYDERABAD: Several areas in Hyderabad are facing a planned power shutdown on Wednesday, September 2, as electricity infrastructure is being shifted to support HMDA road development works. The outage is scheduled from 11 am to 4:30 pm under the Boduppal 33/11 kV substation’s Indiranagar feeder. The work along the Chilkanagar corridor is expected to cause temporary disruption for households and businesses while enabling road expansion.
The maintenance work involves shifting existing electricity poles to towers along the road between Santhamma Gardens and the Ambedkar statue. Such utility relocation is generally required when road widening or expansion affects existing power infrastructure. The planned Hyderabad power cut covers several residential areas and important local roads. Sairam Colony, Srinivasa Colony, Brindavan Colony, Anandnagar and SC Colony are among the locations listed for the shutdown. Other affected areas include Bommak Brothers Colony, East and West Hanumannagar, Sunny Bakery Main Road, Saibhavani Nagar, Saidurga Nagar, Bayyanaguda and Ganesh Nagar. The stretch from the Indian Oil pump to the Ambedkar statue is also included.
