Karnataka recorded its heaviest rainfall in Agumbe over the past 24 hours, with the Shivamogga district station receiving 57 mm, according to information released by the Karnataka State Disaster Management Centre on August 31, 2026.
Agumbe, located in the Thirthahalli taluk, recorded the highest rainfall among the locations listed in the state update. Darekoppa in Chikkamagaluru district’s Sringeri taluk received 55.5 mm, while Kallige in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada recorded 50 mm.
Konara in Bhatkal taluk of Uttara Kannada received 44 mm, followed by Ulluru in Kundapura taluk of Udupi district with 37 mm. Rainfall was also recorded in several interior districts, including 31.5 mm at Bargur in Sira taluk of Tumakuru, 25.5 mm at Mastamaradi in Belagavi taluk and 22 mm at Bhagamandala in Kodagu district.
The state data showed lower rainfall totals across parts of central and northern Karnataka. Matti in Davanagere recorded 13.5 mm, Devapura in Hosadurga taluk of Chitradurga received 11 mm, and Harohalli in Devanahalli taluk of Bengaluru Rural recorded 8.5 mm.
Other locations reporting rainfall included Hanagal in Haveri district with 8 mm, Byakaravalli in Sakleshpur taluk of Hassan with 7 mm, and Ghantumvarapalli in Bagepalli taluk of Chikkaballapur with 6.5 mm. Bengaluru city’s Doddathoguru recorded 6 mm.
The lowest totals in the released list included 0.5 mm at Arani in Nagamangala taluk of Mandya district, 1 mm at Shingatalur in Gadag and Honnuru in Yelandur taluk of Chamarajanagar, and 2 mm at Kurlager in Yadgir district. The disaster management centre’s update did not include information on damage, flooding, road closures or other disruptions.
