Kolkata airport has become the centre of a fresh public-infrastructure supply contract, with furniture worth ₹78.27 lakh to be supplied to the Airports Authority of India’s Eastern Region. The order, disclosed on August 27, adds another layer to the airport’s ongoing operational infrastructure needs while highlighting the steady procurement activity surrounding one of eastern India’s key aviation gateways.
The contract has been awarded to furniture manufacturer Parin Enterprises by the Airports Authority of India under the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The scope covers airport furniture for the Eastern Region, Kolkata. While modest compared with major airport construction packages, the order reflects the less visible procurement required to keep large transport facilities functional, accessible and adequately equipped.For Kolkata, the significance extends beyond the contract value.
