Among the most significant disruptions was the closure of the Andheri subway to vehicular traffic after water accumulated beyond safe operating levels. Several other roads in Andheri, Chembur, Vikhroli, Chandivali, Sakinaka and neighbouring areas were also temporarily shut as overflowing drains and rising water levels created hazardous driving conditions.

According to civic officials, continuous rainfall caused the Mogra Nallah to exceed its carrying capacity, while connected drainage channels also experienced unusually high flows. The resulting overflow led to waterlogging across adjoining road networks, limiting the ability of stormwater systems to discharge runoff efficiently. Authorities indicated that persistent rainfall further delayed pumping and drainage efforts, extending traffic disruptions during the day. This spatial variation placed disproportionate pressure on drainage infrastructure serving the western and eastern suburbs, where several transport corridors experienced prolonged water accumulation.
