Hyderabad: Traffic movement in parts of Hyderabad’s Old City will undergo temporary changes from July 1 as civic authorities begin cement concrete road construction between OP Chatrinaka and the Kandikal Gate flyover approach. The traffic management measures are intended to facilitate infrastructure upgrades while maintaining vehicle movement through alternative routes.
The Hyderabad traffic diversions will remain in place until the road improvement works are completed. The affected section serves as an important link between Chatrinaka, Chandrayangutta Flyover and surrounding neighbourhoods, making traffic regulation necessary to ensure commuter safety and uninterrupted construction activity. According to traffic authorities, vehicles travelling towards the Kandikal Gate Flyover from the Nallavagu Graveyard side will be redirected through alternative routes. Additional diversions have also been introduced for motorists approaching OP Chatrinaka from Lal Darwaza, Gowlipura and Uppuguda to reduce congestion near the construction zone. Urban mobility experts note that temporary Hyderabad traffic diversions are often necessary during major road improvement projects to balance infrastructure development with commuter movement.
