India’s upcoming Ahmedabad–Dholera semi high-speed rail corridor is emerging as a potentially lower-cost alternative to conventional bullet train systems, signalling a shift toward more economically scalable models of fast intercity transport infrastructure.
The proposed 134-kilometre double-line corridor connecting Sarkhej in Ahmedabad with Dholera has received central approval and is expected to support train operations of up to 220 kilometres per hour.
