25-Day Road Construction Disrupts Ghansoli Traffic

Navi Mumbai is gearing up for a series of traffic adjustments as critical road construction work commences in Ghansoli. The project, undertaken by Ashwini Infra Development Pvt. Ltd. and contracted by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), is aimed at improving a 100-metre stretch of road. The construction, starting on January 27, will span 25 days and impact key traffic routes under the Rabale Traffic Division.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tirupati Kakade, “Given the short stretch, we anticipate completion within the stipulated timeframe.” However, the disruptions will require commuters to adapt to alternative routes during the construction phase. The affected zones include the road from Ghansoli Village to Ghansoli Junction, the stretch between Sadguru Hospital and Ghansoli Sector 6, and the connecting route from Ghansoli Shetkari School to Sector 6 via Sadguru Hospital. Moreover, both underpasses linking Ghansoli Meenatai Hospital to Ghansoli Junction will remain temporarily closed. To mitigate commuter inconvenience, the traffic police have announced diversions. Vehicles moving between Ghansoli Village and Ghansoli Junction will be rerouted via Mahadev Temple and D-Mart, through Sector 6. Traffic entering or exiting Ghansoli Sector 6 will navigate through Talavali Village via D-Mart in Sectors 15, 16, 17, and 18.

Additionally, vehicles heading to Ghansoli Village from Ghansoli Junction can access alternative routes via Nausil Naka, Talavali Village, or Dattanagar. With Ghansoli being a pivotal area for residential and business activities, the temporary diversions are expected to influence the daily commute for thousands. Local businesses and residents are advised to plan their travel accordingly to minimise disruption during the construction period. The project underscores NMMC’s commitment to urban infrastructure development while also emphasising the need for traffic efficiency amidst rapid urbanisation in Navi Mumbai.
