The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a large-scale recruitment drive to fill 1,846 clerk positions. This extensive hiring initiative marks one of the largest clerical recruitments undertaken by the civic body in recent years.
The online application process for these positions is set to commence on August 20 and will continue until September 9. The recruitment process will be overseen by Additional Municipal Commissioner, under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani. The available posts are classified under category ‘C’ and fall within a pay scale of INR 25,500 to INR 81,100, as per the updated pay matrix (M15). These positions span various departments within the BMC, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to strengthening its operational capabilities.
The distribution of vacancies is designed to adhere to the principles of reservation and inclusivity. The breakdown is as follows: Scheduled Castes (142 positions), Scheduled Tribes (150 positions), VJ-A (49 positions), NT-B (54 positions), NT-C (39 positions), NT-D (38 positions), Special Backward Category (46 positions), Other Backward Classes (452 positions), Economically Backward Classes (185 positions), and the Extremely Backward Classes (185 positions). The open category holds 506 positions.
