Yesterday, Ernakulam experienced an orange alert, while several other districts, including Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad, were placed under a yellow alert. Border areas of Ernakulam, Idukki, and Kottayam districts witnessed heavy rainfall on Sunday, with the Lower Sholayar region in Thrissur reporting the highest rainfall accumulation of 12.4cm within a 12-hour period. Pre-monsoon rainfall statistics reveal a 39% excess across the state, with only Idukki, Wayanad, and Kozhikode observing normal rainfall patterns. Notably, Kunnamkulam and Vadakkancherry recorded the highest rainfall, both registering 14cm in the last 24 hours.

These weather alerts underscore the significance of preparedness and vigilance, urging residents and authorities to heed cautionary measures and remain informed about prevailing weather conditions.
