Noida: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has initiated plans to acquire approximately 1,900 hectares of land near Tappal in Aligarh district, strategically positioned adjacent to the upcoming Noida International Airport.
This ambitious move is part of YEIDA’s broader strategy to develop a multimodal logistics park and facilitate industrial and manufacturing projects in the region. The designated area, earmarked initially for a 950-hectare logistics park, will see its first phase developed across 200 hectares of land. This development is crucial in supporting the anticipated growth and economic activities around the Noida airport, slated to become a pivotal hub for air travel and cargo operations in the region.
Tappal, owing to its proximity to the future airport, has witnessed a surge in real estate interest, although concerns have been raised about unauthorized residential and commercial developments encroaching upon industrial zones earmarked by YEIDA. To counteract this trend and ensure planned development aligns with strategic objectives, YEIDA has taken proactive steps to acquire an additional 1,861 hectares. This acquisition aims not only to deter illegal constructions but also to streamline industrial growth around the airport precincts.
Officials familiar with the matter highlight the significance of this land acquisition, emphasizing its role in mitigating encroachment challenges and fostering a conducive environment for industrial investments. They underscore that the expansion of YEIDA’s land holdings in Tappal will create ample opportunities for job creation, infrastructure development, and economic prosperity in the surrounding areas. The move comes amidst YEIDA’s efforts to bolster infrastructure projects and attract investments to support the burgeoning needs of the Noida airport’s hinterland. The authority’s proactive stance is expected to strengthen its position as a key facilitator of regional development, leveraging Tappal’s strategic location to harness the economic potential unleashed by the airport’s operationalization.
