The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has begun work on the Aarey Metro station — the terminal station on the 33.5 km-long underground Metro Line 3 corridor whose Phase I is scheduled to open till Bandra-Kurla complex in December 2023.
There are 26 Metro stations, of which Aarey will be the only ground-level station. MMRC’s director (projects), SK Gupta said, “Nearly 15 per cent of the work has been completed on this station, which will be accessible to general commuters as well as our employees who have work in the depot.” In addition, nearly 88 per cent progress has been achieved on the construction of other stations across the entire corridor length.
