In a significant upgrade to enhance passenger convenience and connectivity, Western Railway has announced the conversion of key train services to superfast status. The Bandra Terminus–Barmer and Valsad–Bhagat Ki Kothi trains will now operate as superfast services, with new train numbers effective January 2025.
According to Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Train No. 19009 Bandra Terminus–Barmer Humsafar Express will be renumbered as 21901 starting 3rd January 2025. Similarly, the return service, Train No. 19010 Barmer–Bandra Terminus Humsafar Express, will bear the new number 21902 from 4th January 2025. Further, Train No. 19055 Valsad–Bhagat Ki Kothi Express will transition to the superfast category and run as Train No. 22991 starting 7th January 2025. Its return leg, Train No. 19056 Bhagat Ki Kothi–Valsad Express, will be renumbered as 22992 from 8th January 2025.
The move aims to streamline services and provide faster travel options to passengers, reducing journey times significantly. Upgrading to superfast status not only improves travel efficiency but also reflects the railway’s commitment to enhancing passenger experience through modernisation and better resource allocation. Passengers are advised to take note of the new train numbers and schedules to avoid any inconvenience. The updated timetables are expected to be released soon, ensuring seamless transitions for regular commuters and travellers.
