Residents of Thane will experience a temporary disruption in water supply for 24 hours from Friday, December 13 at 9.00 am to Saturday, December 14 at 9.00 am, as the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) carries out essential maintenance and repairs to the water supply from the M. Stem Authority. The scheduled shutdown is part of an urgent maintenance operation aimed at ensuring the long-term reliability of the water distribution network in the region.
To mitigate the inconvenience caused, TMC has planned an alternative water supply scheme, which will continue to provide water in phases across different parts of the city. However, certain areas will face a complete water cut during this period. From 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on Friday, December 13, water supply will be unavailable in areas including Ghodbunder Road, Patlipada, Pawarnagar, Kothari Compound, Azadnagar, Dogripada, Waghbil, Anandnagar, Kasarwadvali, and Owala. Subsequently, from 9:00 pm on December 13 to 9:00 am on December 14, residents of Samtanagar, Ritupark, Siddeshwar, Internity, Johnson, Jail, Saket, Uthalsar, Retibandar, Kalwa, and parts of Mumbra will also face a water supply interruption.
The phased shutdown is necessary to ensure that the water supply to other parts of Thane is maintained without disruption during the maintenance work. However, there is a possibility of low-pressure water supply for the next 1-2 days after the repairs are completed, until the system stabilises. In light of the planned interruption, TMC has urged residents to store adequate water in advance and cooperate with the authorities during the maintenance period. The corporation has assured that it is working to restore regular water supply as soon as possible and appreciates the understanding and cooperation of the citizens.
