Mumbai-based engineering and EPC player Transrail Lighting has secured new Transmission & Distribution (T&D) orders worth ₹837 crore, marking a significant milestone in both domestic and international markets. The fresh contracts, part of the company’s strategic expansion, underline its growing footprint across power infrastructure and allied sectors.
According to company officials, these wins have elevated cumulative order inflows for FY26 to over ₹3,157 crore, reflecting a robust 57 per cent year-on-year growth. The orders include supply of engineered products for a major international customer, reinforcing Transrail’s global presence in 59 countries and its capability to cater to large-scale energy projects. Industry experts highlight that Transrail’s strategic approach in the T&D segment, along with civil, railways, poles, and lighting infrastructure, positions it as a critical player in India’s power and logistics network. The company has successfully executed over 200 projects in the T&D vertical, demonstrating comprehensive project management, skilled manpower deployment, and supply of in-house manufactured materials.
Officials emphasise that these developments are aligned with India’s broader objectives of enhancing energy efficiency, electrification, and sustainable power transmission networks. As the country increasingly pivots towards renewable integration and low-carbon infrastructure, T&D solutions such as those delivered by Transrail will play a pivotal role in reducing operational emissions and strengthening grid resilience. Transrail’s approach leverages its engineering expertise, combining project execution capabilities with an emphasis on indigenous manufacturing. This model not only ensures timely project delivery but also complements the national agenda of Make in India and Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, which aims to reduce dependency on imports and stimulate domestic industrial growth.
Analysts also point out that the company’s international ventures, including recent contracts in Africa and Southeast Asia, indicate growing global recognition of Indian EPC players. By securing orders for advanced T&D systems abroad, Transrail is positioning itself as a benchmark for reliability and quality in emerging markets. Moving forward, company officials have reiterated their commitment to executing projects with sustainability at the core. By integrating energy-efficient materials, optimising logistics, and deploying low-emission construction practices, the firm aims to minimise environmental impact while enhancing operational efficiency.
As India continues to invest heavily in electrification and smart energy networks, players like Transrail are expected to see accelerated demand for specialised T&D infrastructure, both domestically and internationally.
