Traffic Block on Mumbai-Pune Expressway for Bridge Construction from Jan 27 to 29
The Mumbai-Pune Expressway, also known as the Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway, will face a traffic block for three days, from 27 January to 29 January, 2025. The block is being implemented to facilitate the installation of girders for a new bridge being constructed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) at Km. 58/500 near Dongargaon/Kusgaon on the Pune-bound lane.
The traffic block will be in effect daily from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on the aforementioned dates. During this period, all vehicles traveling from Mumbai to Pune will be diverted at Km. 54/700 towards the Varsoli Toll Naka (National Highway No. 48) and then routed via Dehu Road. However, traffic traveling from Pune to Mumbai will remain unaffected and continue on the Mumbai-bound lane of the expressway. After 3:00 pm each day, normal traffic flow will resume for vehicles heading from Mumbai to Pune on the designated Pune-bound lane of the expressway.
Commuters are strongly advised to plan their journeys around these timings and make use of the alternative routes provided for traffic traveling from Mumbai to Pune. For assistance during the traffic block, drivers can contact the Mumbai-Pune Expressway control room at 9822498224 or the Highway Police Department at 9833498334. This traffic block is part of ongoing infrastructure development efforts aimed at improving the expressway, and authorities request the cooperation of all travelers during the three-day period.
