Telangana to Receive National Highway Projects Worth Rs 5,413 Crore
Union ministers are set to inaugurate national highway projects worth Rs 5,413 crore on May 5, with the aim of transforming connectivity in the state.
 Hyderabad and Adilabad, focusing on enhancing road networks that are critical for economic growth and regional connectivity. This is part of the central government’s ongoing efforts to modernise India’s road transport infrastructure and improve access to key urban and rural areas. The two-day inauguration ceremony will be led by the Union Minister of Roads, Transport and Highways, alongside the Minister of Coal and Mines. The projects will cover a total of approximately 155 km of highways in the region, including both completed segments and those that are set to lay foundations. The project investments span two main zones within Telangana – the bustling city of Hyderabad and the developing region of Adilabad, each benefiting from critical infrastructure upgrades.
The Hyderabad portion of the project includes the inauguration of 22.57 km of national highways worth ₹895.64 crore. In addition, the laying of foundation stones for 20.87 km of roads, estimated at ₹657.27 crore, will mark the beginning of further construction that will serve as a catalyst for more accessible urban growth. Meanwhile, Adilabad’s portion will see a more substantial boost, with the inauguration of 123 km of highways valued at ₹3,694 crore, which aims to connect rural and urban regions more effectively. Additionally, the foundation stones for 8.1 km of new roads, estimated at ₹168.47 crore, will further enhance transportation access.
