Tara Chand InfraLogistic Solutions Limited has secured a significant domestic contract valued at approximately ₹81.51 crore from Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), marking its strategic entry into the Eastern India market for warehousing and transportation. This pivotal agreement positions the company as the Consignment and Handling Agent at SAIL’s largest warehouse by volume in Dankuni, West Bengal, underscoring a growing demand for efficient and potentially more sustainable logistics solutions within India’s industrial landscape.
The contract, slated for execution over 4.5 years commencing from Q3 of FY2025-26, involves the deployment of advanced machinery and skilled manpower specifically for handling steel products. This expansion into Eastern India is a significant milestone for Tara Chand InfraLogistic Solutions, a company already engaged in infrastructure construction projects and the warehousing and transportation of steel. Such specialised logistics services are crucial for optimising supply chains, reducing transit times, and ultimately contributing to a more streamlined and less carbon-intensive flow of goods within urban and industrial corridors.
The financial performance of Tara Chand InfraLogistic Solutions Limited reflects a robust growth trajectory, positioning it as a notable player in the infrastructure and logistics sectors. The company reported a 76 per cent increase in net sales to ₹81.63 crore and a 25 per cent rise in net profit to ₹7.86 crore in Q4 FY2025 compared to the previous year. Annually, net sales grew by 44 per cent to ₹248 crore, with net profit surging by 56 per cent to ₹25 crore in FY2025. As of March 2025, the company boasts a substantial order book of ₹1,368 crore, indicating strong future revenue visibility.
This collaboration between a logistics firm and a major steel producer like SAIL holds broader implications for sustainable urban development. Efficient warehousing and transportation are critical for reducing logistical bottlenecks, which in turn can minimise fuel consumption and vehicular emissions associated with prolonged transit and inefficient material handling. By adopting advanced machinery and streamlined processes, companies like Tara Chand InfraLogistic can contribute to a cleaner urban environment, aligning with the vision of zero net carbon and eco-friendly cities.
Furthermore, the growth of robust logistics infrastructure is essential for fostering equitable development. Improved supply chain efficiency can lead to better availability of goods and services, potentially at lower costs, benefiting consumers across various economic strata. The creation of skilled jobs in warehousing and transportation also contributes to local employment and economic empowerment, fostering gender-neutral opportunities within the industrial sector. This contract, therefore, is not merely a business transaction but a step towards a more integrated, efficient, and sustainable industrial ecosystem that supports India’s urban and economic aspirations.
