The South Western Railway has extended the partial cancellation of several train services due to ongoing essential engineering and safety-related works. These modifications are being carried out between key stations like Raydurga and Kadiridevarapalli and between Londa and Castle Rock. The revised schedules will affect select trains throughout December 2024 and into early January 2025. Passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly, as these disruptions may impact their usual train routes.
Partial Cancellations: Guntakal–Kadiridevarapalli Section
One of the key cancellations concerns Train No. 07589, the Tirupati–Kadiridevarapalli Daily Passenger Special. The service will remain partially cancelled between Guntakal and Kadiridevarapalli for the entire month of December 2024. Passengers should note that the train will short-terminate at Guntakal, instead of proceeding to Kadiridevarapalli. In a similar vein, Train No. 07590, the Kadiridevarapalli–Tirupati Daily Passenger Special, will be partially cancelled between Kadiridevarapalli and Guntakal from December 2, 2024, to January 1, 2025. The train will now originate from Guntakal. Previously, these services were only set for partial cancellation until the end of November 2024, but the necessary yard modifications and works have prompted the extension.
Partial Cancellations: Londa–Castle Rock Section
Train No. 17333, the Miraj–Castle Rock Daily Unreserved Express, will remain partially cancelled between Londa and Castle Rock for the entire month of December 2024. Passengers traveling on this route will need to board the train from Londa, as the train will short-terminate at that station. Similarly, Train No. 17334, the Castle Rock–Miraj Daily Unreserved Express, will also be partially cancelled between Castle Rock and Londa. This service will originate from Londa instead of Castle Rock, impacting passengers who would usually board at Castle Rock.
These cancellations were initially set to end on November 30, 2024, but the ongoing engineering works have caused a further delay in normal service restoration. For passengers who rely on these specific train services, the extended cancellations present a significant inconvenience. The disruption, especially during the busy holiday season, is bound to affect daily commuters and long-distance travelers alike. Families heading home for the festive season or individuals with time-sensitive travel plans will need to adjust their schedules, which could lead to frustration and confusion. South Western Railway has urged passengers to stay updated on further announcements and to check their train’s status on the official railway website for any last-minute changes. Passengers are encouraged to visit the official South Western Railway website or contact their nearest railway station for the latest updates.
