Scindia Opens Bharat Telecom 2025 in New Delhi

Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, inaugurated the 22nd edition of the Bharat Telecom Expo in the national capital on Tuesday.

The two-day international event aims to position India as a trusted provider of world-class telecom and ICT solutions to global markets. Organised annually by the Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) in partnership with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Bharat Telecom 2025 is being held on 6 and 7 May at New Delhi. TEPC functions under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, while DoT is part of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. This year’s edition has drawn over 130 foreign delegates from more than 35 countries, representing both government bodies and private enterprises. The event also features participation from around 80 Indian companies across the telecom and ICT sectors, who are showcasing cutting-edge innovations and home-grown technology solutions.

Bharat Telecom Expo serves as a reverse buyer-seller meet and a global business platform that facilitates interaction between Indian telecom companies and international stakeholders. The initiative aims to attract foreign investment and encourage collaboration that strengthens India’s position as a hub for telecom manufacturing and services. “The goal is to project India not just as a participant, but as a creator and reliable partner in the global telecom ecosystem,” organisers said in a statement. “With this platform, Indian firms get the opportunity to connect with global buyers and build export potential.” The broader vision behind the expo aligns with the goals of India’s Foreign Trade Policy 2023 and the government’s push for self-reliance in critical sectors. The TEPC, set up in 2009, plays a vital role in boosting exports and positioning India as a secure, state-of-the-art telecom solutions provider on the world stage. According to the TEPC, India has the potential to become a global telecom manufacturing powerhouse, and initiatives like Bharat Telecom are designed to catalyse that transformation. The event also supports the government’s ambition to build a resilient and export-driven digital economy.

With strategic participation, high-level dialogues, and product showcases, Bharat Telecom 2025 reinforces India’s capabilities and readiness to lead in the rapidly evolving global telecom landscape.
