Railways Introduces Seasonal Services Connecting Kanpur to Mumbai and Beyond

Indian Railways has unveiled a series of special train services designed to enhance connectivity from Kanpur to prominent destinations including Mumbai, Gujarat, and various hill stations. These initiatives aim to alleviate congestion and provide passengers with more travel options during peak periods.

Among the newly introduced services is the Mumbai Central–Varanasi–Mumbai Central weekly AC special. This train is scheduled to depart every Wednesday from Mumbai Central and return every Friday from Varanasi. The 17-coach formation is set to operate 12 trips spanning April to June, traversing key stations such as Farrukhabad, Kannauj, and Kanpur Central.

Additionally, the Bandra Terminus–Barhani–Bandra Terminus weekly special will run every Sunday from Bandra Terminus and every Monday from Barhani, also completing 12 trips during the same timeframe. This 22-coach train will pass through Kanpur Central, thereby enhancing accessibility for passengers in the region.

The Vadodara–Mau–Vadodara Superfast weekly special is another notable addition, scheduled to operate from April to June with 13 planned trips. This service will halt at significant stations including Kanpur Central and Fatehpur, further strengthening the network’s reach.

Furthermore, the Bandra Terminus–Banaras–Bandra Terminus Superfast unreserved train will run every Thursday from Bandra Terminus and every Friday from Banaras during the specified period, totaling 12 trips. This train will make a stop at Manikpur Junction in Chitrakoot, offering additional convenience to travelers.

Conversely, due to non-interlocking work at Gondia station, several train services will experience cancellations. Notably, the Barauni–Gondia Express and its return service will be affected between May 2 and May 7. Similarly, the Durg–Nautanwa Express and Nautanwa–Durg Express will face cancellations on April 25, April 27, May 2, and May 4, respectively.

These strategic additions and adjustments by Indian Railways reflect a concerted effort to accommodate the increased demand during the summer months, ensuring that passengers have access to reliable and efficient travel options.
