Pune To Receive Four New Vande Bharat Express Trains

Pune, the national railway operator has announced the launch of four new Vande Bharat Express trains, significantly boosting the city’s rail connectivity. These additions will link Pune to Shegaon, Vadodara, Secunderabad, and Belagavi, promising substantial reductions in travel time and enhanced passenger comfort. Currently, the city operates two Vande Bharat services, and with these new routes, the total will rise to six, solidifying Pune’s position as a crucial railway hub and promoting regional development through faster, modern transport solutions across various corridors.

These upcoming services are set to revolutionize travel experiences from Pune. The Pune–Vadodara Vande Bharat train is expected to reduce travel time from approximately nine hours to six to seven hours, with potential halts at Lonavala, Panvel, Vapi, and Surat. The Pune–Shegaon route will likely include stops at Daund, Ahmednagar, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Jalna. For the Pune–Secunderabad journey, passengers can anticipate saving two to three hours, with probable stops at Daund, Solapur, and Gulbarga. The Pune–Belagavi route is planned with likely halts at Satara, Sangli, and Miraj. Tickets for these new express services are anticipated to range between ₹1,500 and ₹2,000.

With the addition of these four high-speed services, Pune’s total Vande Bharat network will expand to six routes, significantly easing intercity travel and fostering economic linkages. This expansion is designed to enhance passenger convenience, stimulate tourism in the newly connected regions, and provide a fresh impetus to overall development around Pune. Beyond these immediate launches, the railway authorities are also actively considering the introduction of a Pune–Nagpur Vande Bharat Sleeper train, which would further bolster overnight connectivity and cater to longer distance travelers, underscoring a commitment to advanced and comprehensive rail infrastructure.

The introduction of these four new Vande Bharat trains marks a transformative moment for Pune’s rail network. This expansion promises improved travel convenience, boosted tourism, and significant economic impetus for the connected regions. Such modern transport initiatives are vital for fostering sustainable development and strengthening regional connectivity, aligning with the nation’s progress towards advanced infrastructure.
