Pune: On 23 August 2024, Maha Metro announced the release of a significant tender for the construction of four elevated metro stations as part of the Pune Metro Phase 1A expansion. This move is set to extend the Purple Line by an additional 4.519 kilometres, stretching from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Nigdi.
The newly issued tender, designated under package P1A-C-02, represents the second major construction contract for the Pune Metro’s Phase 1A. The scope of this package encompasses the development of four new stations, which include: Chinchwad Akurdi Nigdi Bhakti Shakti This extension is crucial for enhancing connectivity within the Pune Metropolitan Region, aiming to improve the overall efficiency of the city’s public transportation system.
