Pune Khadki Station Block On July 13 To Disrupt Train Services For New Platform
In Pune, major railway infrastructure work at Khadki Railway Station by Central Railway’s Pune Division will significantly disrupt train services on Sunday, July 13. This crucial block, necessary for constructing a new platform, involves complex Pre-Non-Interlocking and Non-Interlocking works. Passengers across the Lonavala–Pune section are advised to prepare for widespread changes, including train regulations, reschedules, short terminations, and cancellations throughout the day, as authorities aim to enhance the station’s capacity and operational efficiency.
The Non-Interlocking work will be in effect from 12:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, leading to comprehensive adjustments in train operations. Four express trains departing on July 12, including the JU-HDP Express, GWL-DD Express, TVC-CSMT Express, and SBC-CSMT Express, are slated to experience delays ranging from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours during the Pre-NI period. On July 13, several long-distance trains will face rescheduling, with the CSMT-MAS Express delayed by 1 hour, Pune-CSMT Express by 1.5 hours, LTT-COA Express by 30 minutes, CSMT-TVC Express by 2 hours, and DD-INDB Express by 1.5 hours.
Additionally, train no. 11140 HPT-CSMT Express will terminate at Pune, while train no. 11029 CSMT-KOP Express will originate from Pune, remaining cancelled between CSMT and Pune. All mail, express, and suburban trains typically halting at Khadki station on July 13 will bypass their scheduled stop due to the ongoing NI work. A total of 26 suburban local trains (13 up and 13 down) connecting Pune, Lonavala, Shivajinagar, and Talegaon have been cancelled for the day. Furthermore, Level Crossing Gates No. 62A and 62AA near Khadki Station will be closed for vehicular movement, with commuters advised to seek alternate routes. The Central Railway has urged passengers to check updated train timings and plan their journeys accordingly to minimize inconvenience.
This infrastructure upgrade is vital for enhancing long-term rail capacity and efficiency in the Lonavala-Pune section. While temporary inconvenience is expected, Central Railway has urged passengers to check updated schedules and cooperate with authorities. These efforts are crucial for a modern, reliable, and sustainable railway network that supports urban development.
