Pune’s first state-of-the-art, fully computerized 24×7 Citizen Service Office opened on Jangli Maharaj Road on Saturday, July 12, aiming to provide seamless, round-the-clock assistance for Central and State Government services. This citizen-centric initiative, launched by MP Murlidhar Mohol, promises to effectively address day-to-day issues for residents. The inauguration by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis marks a significant step towards enhancing accessibility and streamlining public services for the city’s citizens.
The inauguration event, held at 3:30 PM, was attended by several dignitaries, including BJP State President Ravindra Chavan, State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, and Minister of State for Urban Development Madhuri Misal. During the ceremony, Chief Minister Fadnavis also released Mohol’s one-year performance report and a book detailing his experiences during the COVID-19 period. Additionally, two modern ambulances were dedicated to public service.
The new Citizen Service Office is equipped with fully computerized systems and dedicated counters designed to offer a wide array of services. These include grievance redressal for various government departments and local bodies such as Pune Municipal Corporation, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, and PMRDA. Key services encompass guidance on government schemes, assistance counters for Civil Aviation and Railways, a helpdesk for pilgrimages, and a Maha E-Seva Kendra for instant certificates and documents. The office also provides employment and self-employment guidance, dedicated medical assistance and legal aid counters, and specialized support for differently-abled citizens, senior citizens, and students, ensuring inclusive access to services.
A distinctive feature of the office is its digital-first approach, which enables citizens to submit e-documents, utilize digital tokens, and access virtual consultation services, thereby minimizing physical queues and streamlining interactions.
Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, emphasized that this office aims to make government services more accessible and citizen-friendly by removing bureaucratic hurdles and information gaps. It is envisioned as a step towards strengthening democratic values by consolidating all government services under one roof, available 24×7.
