Pune Godrej Motor Solutions Targets Rs 1000 Crore Revenue by FY28

Godrej Motor Solutions, a division of Godrej & Boyce, has set an ambitious target to achieve INR 1000 crore in revenue by FY28, with 20% of this revenue expected from exports. This growth strategy is driven by the expanding demand for electric vehicles (EVs), heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) applications, pump systems, and actuators in both domestic and international markets.

Xercsis Marker, Executive Vice President and Head of the Motor Solutions Business at Godrej Enterprises Group, stated, “We are strengthening our manufacturing capabilities through significant R&D investments and advanced technology adoption. We continue to invest in technology and capacity to serve identified growth sectors like EVs, automation, actuators, and pumps, while advancing innovations in motor design to reduce reliance on rare-earth materials.”

To support this growth, Godrej Motor Solutions has enhanced its manufacturing capabilities for EV motor components. This includes the commissioning of a new assembly line to support growth in both Indian and export markets such as the US and Europe. Additionally, a high-precision lamination punching line from AIDA Japan is being installed to meet the increasing need for ultra-thin laminations in EV, aerospace, and automation sectors. The business currently holds a dominant 60% market share in hermetic motors for refrigeration and air-conditioning applications in the domestic Indian market. Recent product innovations include the development of complete assembled motors for the off-road EV market serving US customers, with plans also to manufacture motors for a renowned German group with compatible controller offerings. The business is also investing in cutting-edge motor technologies such as Switched Reluctance and Synchronous Reluctance Motors, aiming to reduce reliance on rare earth magnets over the years while improving efficiency.

The facility is capable of generating an annual production capacity of over 6 million motors and offers over 300 customized SKUs to serve diverse industrial applications. Sustainability remains a core focus, with the plant certified with IGBC Platinum, GreenCo Platinum Plus, and zero waste to landfill. The facilities are water-positive and recycle 80 percent of their finished goods packaging. Pune has established itself as a major hub for manufacturing and the automotive industry in India. This growth has spurred the development of a robust ecosystem of ancillary industries, including component and material suppliers that support the region’s manufacturing strength. Located on a 36-acre, state-of-the-art manufacturing campus in Shindewadi, Pune, Motor Solutions has a green supply chain, with the majority of its suppliers situated within a 100-kilometer radius, enhancing regional economic development.
