Pune CREDAI Honours Developers For Excellence In Labour Welfare Facilities Awards

Pune’s construction sector took a significant step towards people-centric development with the 2025 Pride Best Facility Awards hosted by CREDAI Pune on 16 December at the Hyatt Hotel. The event recognised developers who have implemented outstanding labour welfare measures, ranging from hygienic living conditions and healthcare facilities to skill development and women-centric initiatives in construction worker camps. Such recognition highlights the growing emphasis on sustainability and social responsibility within India’s urban development landscape.

The awards covered multiple categories, including Health and Hygiene, Safety at Labour Camps, Crèche Facilities, Maximum BOCW Registration, and innovation through the R. Vasudevan Award. A new category for Promising Debutants was also introduced to encourage first-time entrants to adopt exemplary practices. According to industry experts, initiatives like these not only improve on-site productivity but also enhance workforce stability by creating dignified and secure environments for workers and their families.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials and industry leaders, including the Police Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad, the Guest of Honour from a leading realty group, and former labour department officials. Their presence underscored the importance of institutional collaboration in fostering compliance and promoting best practices. “Recognising developers for prioritising worker welfare sets a benchmark for responsible construction practices,” said an official. “It ensures projects remain socially sustainable and reinforces long-term workforce resilience.”

CREDAI Pune leadership emphasised that labour-friendly policies translate into tangible operational benefits. President Manish Jain noted, “When workers have access to clean housing, medical facilities, and childcare, productivity and morale improve significantly. Awards like these create healthy competition, encouraging developers to raise standards continuously.” Vice President Arvind Jain added that structured interventions post-COVID had helped retain skilled labour within Pune, reducing attrition and supporting local economic stability.

Judges evaluated projects based on transparency, systematic registration, site audits, and worker-centric amenities. Winners were selected across three categories by workforce size. Among major awards, VTP Realty, Rohan Builders, and Naiknavare Developers were recognised for setting exemplary standards, while debut entrants such as Tejus Infratech and Vascon Engineers demonstrated emerging commitment to humane labour practices.

Labour welfare specialists highlighted that sustainable urban development depends not only on environmentally responsible design but also on social equity. “Safe and dignified housing for workers is essential to building inclusive cities,” said an industry expert. The awards illustrate how private developers can lead by example in integrating welfare, safety, and compliance into project planning, reinforcing a zero-carbon, equitable approach to urban growth.

The CREDAI Pune Best Facility Awards exemplify a growing shift in India’s construction sector towards embedding labour welfare within broader sustainability goals, ensuring both economic efficiency and social responsibility across urban real estate projects.
