Pune Coordinated Action Ordered For Industrial Infrastructure Issues
In Pune, the Divisional Commissioner has mandated close inter-departmental coordination to address persistent infrastructure and service challenges faced by industries. The directive comes a day after the Chief Minister announced a single nodal authority for industrial zones, signaling a concentrated effort to enhance ease of doing business. Chairing a high-level meeting at Council Hall on Friday, the Divisional Commissioner emphasized the critical need for time-bound action and seamless inter-agency coordination to foster robust industrial development.Â
The Commissioner affirmed a commitment to personally monitor progress and ensure regular follow-ups for timely completion of work as directed by the Chief Minister. Regular review meetings, involving the Divisional Commissioner and the District Collector, will also be held with industry associations to facilitate real-time grievance resolution. The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister had convened a review meeting in Mumbai on Thursday to tackle chronic issues plaguing the Hinjewadi-Maan IT Park, including severe flooding and power outages. The Chief Minister reportedly took these concerns seriously, instructing officials to act swiftly and cohesively.
The District Collector stated that the state is committed to promoting industrial growth across key hubs such as Pimpri-Chinchwad, Chakan, Talegaon, Ranjangaon, Jejuri, and Baramati. The official confirmed plans to upgrade infrastructure both within and outside these industrial zones. The meeting saw participation from senior officials representing various civic bodies, development authorities, and utility providers, including the Pune Municipal Corporation, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, PMRDA, MIDC, MSEDCL, and National Highways Authority of India. The PMPML Managing Director also expressed openness to launching customized bus services for industrial workers.
Key directives issued include immediate repair of all potholes in and around industrial zones, ensuring uninterrupted power supply through feeder and substation upgrades, and comprehensive waste management and drainage maintenance by local bodies. There will also be joint efforts to clear and prevent encroachments on roads to facilitate smooth traffic movement.
This concerted initiative underscores the administration’s resolve to create a more efficient and supportive industrial ecosystem. By streamlining processes and ensuring essential services, authorities aim to reduce operational bottlenecks, fostering sustainable economic growth and job creation across the region.
