POSOCO Donates Medical Waste Machine to Delhi Hospital
Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) has provided a medical waste incinerator to Hospital in New Delhi as part of its Swachhta Action Plan. The initiative aims to improve cleanliness and ensure safe disposal of medical waste in the hospital. The machine was officially handed over in a small event attended by hospital officials and POSOCO representatives.
The incinerator will help dispose of medical waste efficiently, reducing the risk of infections and maintaining hygiene in the hospital premises. Hospital authorities appreciated the initiative, stating that the new equipment would help manage biomedical waste better, ensuring a cleaner and safer environment for patients, doctors, and staff.
The incinerator is designed to handle different types of medical waste, including contaminated materials, in a safe and eco-friendly manner. POSOCO, which oversees the operation of India’s power grid, has taken this step under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. The organisation has been involved in several social welfare initiatives, focusing on environmental sustainability, hygiene, and public health.
With hospitals generating a significant amount of biomedical waste daily, having proper waste management systems is essential. The installation of this incinerator will support the hospital in its efforts to maintain hygiene and follow proper waste disposal protocols.
Such contributions from organisations like POSOCO play a crucial role in strengthening healthcare infrastructure and promoting sustainable waste management. This initiative aligns with the larger goal of maintaining cleanliness in healthcare facilities and protecting public health.
