Valued at over ₹77,000 crore, these initiatives underscore the Centre’s commitment to a Viksit Bharat by 2047, focusing on self-reliance, connectivity, and clean energy. The journey commenced in Dahod, where the inauguration of India’s first 9,000 HP electric locomotive manufacturing plant marked a milestone in the nation’s industrial capabilities. This state-of-the-art facility, capable of producing a high-powered engine every two days, highlights India’s growing prowess in railway technology and export potential. Additionally, the launch of the Veraval-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express and the Valsad-Dahod express train signifies a leap towards enhanced rail connectivity in the region.

Proceeding to Bhuj, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth over ₹53,400 crore, spanning green energy, ports, water supply, and roads. A notable highlight was the establishment of a fully indigenous green hydrogen plant, aligning with the nation’s renewable energy goals. Furthermore, the rollout of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is already benefiting numerous households in Gujarat, promoting clean and affordable energy access. The region’s port infrastructure also received a boost, with Kandla Port handling a record 15 crore tonnes of cargo this year, reinforcing Gujarat’s position as a key maritime hub. The visit culminated in Gandhinagar, where the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for several urban development projects at Mahatma Mandir.

These include the inauguration of 22,055 PMAY homes, marking a significant step towards affordable housing, and the launch of the Urban Development Year 2025, commemorating two decades since the first Urban Development Year in 2000. Additionally, the release of ₹3,300 crore to urban local bodies under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana aims to bolster urban infrastructure and services. The foundation laying for Phase 3 of the Sabarmati Riverfront, with an investment of ₹1,000 crore, promises to further enhance the city’s waterfront development. In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the collective effort of 140 crore Indians in building a Viksit Bharat. He also highlighted the nation’s economic progress, stating that India has surpassed Japan to become the fourth-largest economy globally.

Looking ahead, he envisioned India hosting the Olympics in 2036, with Ahmedabad expected to host 10 stadiums to support this ambitious goal. The Prime Minister also urged citizens to prioritize Indian-made products, promoting economic self-reliance and reducing dependency on foreign goods.
