Patna Delhi Amrit Bharat Express To Launch Cutting Travel Time To 10 Hours

The much-anticipated Patna-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express train is set to begin regular services from July 20, promising a significantly faster and more comfortable journey for travelers. The nation’s leader is scheduled to flag off this new service during a visit to the state on July 18. This development is seen as a major boost to rail connectivity, as the train is designed to cover the nearly 1000-kilometer distance between the two cities in just 10 hours, operating at a top speed of 130 km per hour and offering upgraded onboard facilities.

The Amrit Bharat Express aims to provide a convenient and economical travel experience, particularly catering to the general public. It will feature 22 coaches, comprising exclusively sleeper and general class compartments, ensuring more affordable ticket prices due to the absence of air-conditioned coaches. Despite this, the train boasts a modern aesthetic with its distinctive orange and grey livery and is equipped with contemporary amenities for passenger comfort. Its route is expected to benefit not only residents of Bihar but also those in Uttar Pradesh, as it includes several key halts across the state.

Reports suggest the new train will make approximately 12 stops, including significant locations such as Ara, Buxar, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Kanpur, and Etawah, before reaching New Delhi. The estimated sleeper class fare is around ₹1,065, which is slightly higher than conventional sleeper trains, reflecting the faster travel time and enhanced onboard facilities. These modern amenities include charging points at every seat, CCTV cameras in all coaches for enhanced safety, clean and high-tech modular toilets, digital information display boards, and improved lighting throughout the compartments.

This new rail service represents a vital enhancement in inter-state connectivity, fostering economic and social ties between Bihar and the national capital. By offering a swift and affordable travel option with modern amenities, it significantly contributes to the development of sustainable transport infrastructure, ultimately benefiting thousands of passengers and strengthening regional integration.
