Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the Noida International Airport as a transformative infrastructure project that will greatly enhance connectivity and improve the ease of living for residents in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Uttar Pradesh. Speaking on the recent development, PM Modi expressed his government’s commitment to creating world-class infrastructure that drives growth and prosperity through improved connectivity. This comes after the successful completion of the first test flight landing at the Noida International Airport, a significant milestone in its construction.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu shared the achievement, noting that the airport’s successful validation flight, which took place on Monday, marks a key step in the development of the airport. He also emphasized how, under the leadership of PM Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the airport will play a vital role in transforming regional connectivity and boosting India’s aviation sector. The validation flight was carried out using an Airbus A320, operated by Indigo, which landed at the airport’s state-of-the-art greenfield facility in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar, just 75 kilometers from Delhi. The plane was met with a ceremonial water cannon salute, signifying the importance of this event. The successful completion of the flight is a major step in the airport’s aerodrome licensing process, ensuring that all essential regulatory norms, safety protocols, and operational procedures have been met.
This new airport, which is set to be NCR’s second international hub after Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, is a crucial part of the region’s growth. It has been developed under a public-private partnership model, led by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a subsidiary of Zurich International Airport AG. The development of Noida International Airport is poised to significantly boost air travel and contribute to economic growth in the region. By improving connectivity, the airport will not only ease the lives of millions but also drive regional development, making it a key part of India’s expanding infrastructure. The successful test flight serves as a stepping stone toward realizing the vision of Noida International Airport becoming a world-class aviation hub that benefits both the local economy and the country as a whole.
