Noida International Airport, set to be the largest in India upon completion, is rapidly advancing toward its opening in April 2025. One key development that will significantly improve connectivity to the airport is the nearly completed 8-lane interchange linking the airport to the Greenfield Expressway.
The interchange, spanning 750 meters, will serve as a crucial link between the Noida International Airport and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, one of the major national highways. This infrastructure is expected to enhance accessibility, ensuring smoother travel for passengers and improving regional connectivity. Construction of the interchange is in its final stages, with the reinforced cement concrete (RCC) work completed, and the final layer of tar now in place. The finishing touches are underway and will be completed soon, with trials using light vehicles scheduled to begin next week. As part of the Bharatmala Project, the interchange is being developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) alongside a 13-kilometer-long, six-lane Greenfield Expressway that will connect directly to the airport. The total cost of this project is estimated at Rs 2,241.4 crore, reflecting its importance to the region’s transportation infrastructure.
Additionally, the construction of approximately 1,300 meters of road linking the Yamuna Expressway interchange to the airport is progressing, though some sections are still under development. Officials confirm that the remaining work is advancing quickly, and the road is expected to be completed in the near future. This project, which spans six villages and includes a 9-kilometer stretch within Jewar, promises to transform the ease of travel to the Noida International Airport, making it a vital part of the region’s growing infrastructure. With these developments, the airport is poised to become a major transportation hub for both domestic and international travelers.
