Noida Greater Noida and Yamuna City Must Fast Track Projects Says UP Industry Minister

Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ has called for urgent acceleration in infrastructure and development projects across Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna City region. During a comprehensive five-hour review meeting with senior officials from the three industrial authorities on Friday, the minister emphasized the need for speed, transparency, and strict adherence to deadlines in all pending and ongoing works.

The visit, part of a two-day inspection tour of Gautam Budh Nagar, covered key focus areas such as land acquisition processes, project timelines, pending lotteries, infrastructure quality, and the efficiency of administrative procedures. The minister didn’t mince words as he pointed to past regimes for allowing corruption to thrive unchecked. “Whether it was the BSP or SP government, everything then ran on slips and money. But in these eight years, Uttar Pradesh has truly established itself. Anyone trying to break the law or engage in corruption will not be spared,” he said.

Gupta urged departments to impose effective penalties rather than symbolic ones wherever there were violations. He made it clear that promoting industrial investment and ensuring seamless execution of projects remain among the government’s top priorities. The expansion of industrial units, he noted, would directly translate into increased employment opportunities, further propelling Uttar Pradesh towards becoming India’s leading economic state.

The minister instructed the three development authorities to focus on expanding the land bank and improving coordination with architects to expedite the building plan approval process. He personally reviewed the approval mechanisms and flagged procedural delays, instructing officials to create systems that can detect and resolve issues without delay. Particular emphasis was placed on settling long-pending builder–buyer disputes and speeding up the process of property registrations.

Speaking after the meeting, Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M assured that ongoing projects had already been placed on the fast track and that all efforts were being made to meet government-imposed deadlines. “We will expedite the work on infrastructure and developmental projects. Our projects are already put on fast-track so that we meet the deadlines. We will comply with the fixed deadlines,” he said.

The minister also expressed concern over delays in completing engineering and power-related works. He demanded swift disposal of pending court affidavits and ordered the removal of legal counsels whose performance was deemed unsatisfactory. Officials were directed to submit a detailed report listing both pending and resolved legal matters to ensure accountability within the system.

Beyond administrative matters, the minister emphasized the need to improve the visual and environmental appeal of Noida and its surrounding regions. He called for massive plantation drives, regular cleaning, and proper maintenance of the city’s horticulture parks. Special attention was directed towards beautifying the entry point from Delhi into Noida to reflect the city’s rising industrial and economic stature.

Praising the concentration of major industries and the continuous flow of investments, the minister referred to Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Authority area as “the crown jewels of Uttar Pradesh,” likening their economic importance to that of Kashmir’s symbolic status for India. He reiterated that these regions must reflect the high standards and efficiency expected from premier industrial hubs and that delays or inefficiencies would not be tolerated.
