Noida Airport Declared No-Drone Zone

The Gautam Budh Nagar Police announced on April 26 that operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones near the airport is prohibited.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police at Jewar Airport, emphasized the importance of this restriction for airport security and airspace management. The airport was designated a Red Zone for drone operations on October 8, 2024, in compliance with directives from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Violations of this ban are punishable under the Airports Authority of India Act, 1934, and UAV operation rules. In parallel, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is launching new bus services to improve connectivity to the airport. A 42-kilometer route connecting Jewar Airport to Pari Chowk in Greater Noida is set to commence operations. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance public transportation in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region, following directives from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The new bus services aim to support the region’s rapid growth and increase accessibility for residents and travelers.
The introduction of these bus routes is expected to alleviate transportation challenges in the expanding YEIDA area. The development aligns with efforts to create sustainable and equitable urban infrastructure, promoting zero-net carbon emissions and eco-friendly practices. The integration of electric buses into the fleet further supports environmental goals and provides a cleaner alternative for commuters. These developments underscore the commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and ensuring the sustainable growth of the Noida International Airport and its surrounding areas.
