No More Delays Greater Noida’s Ultimatum to Plot Holders

Greater Noida has issued a stern ultimatum to property allottees who have yet to complete their registration or commence construction on their residential plots, despite having held the allotments for up to twenty years. The Greater Noida Authority has mandated that these allottees must finalise their property registration by October 30, 2024, and begin construction by June 30, 2026, or face cancellation of their allotments.

This decisive measure was announced following a board meeting on June 12, where the authority resolved that property allottees must adhere to a strict timeline. The deadline for completing the property registration was set for June 30, 2024, while a completion certificate for construction must be obtained by June 30, 2026. Failure to meet these deadlines will result in the revocation of the allotment, as stipulated by the authority.

The final warning affects approximately 5,000 property allottees across various categories. Many of these individuals have not yet executed the necessary property registry or initiated construction on their plots, despite the extensive time that has elapsed since their initial allotment. The additional chief executive officer of the Greater Noida Authority highlighted the situation, stating, “Numerous allottees have failed to complete the registry or commence construction on their plots. This has persisted for many years, and it is imperative that these issues are resolved promptly.”

The move aims to address longstanding delays and ensure that residential plots are developed in accordance with the authority’s regulations. By enforcing these deadlines, the Greater Noida Authority seeks to expedite development and enhance the utilisation of allocated properties, while also ensuring that the city’s planning and infrastructure are not hampered by prolonged inactivity. The stringent measures reflect the authority’s commitment to maintaining orderly urban development and addressing issues of non-compliance effectively.
