NHAI Invites Tenders for Northern Stretch of Regional Ring Road to Enhance Connectivity

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken a significant step forward in enhancing regional infrastructure by inviting tenders for the northern stretch of the Regional Ring Road (RRR). This stretch, which spans from Sangareddy to Choutuppal, covers a total length of 161.5 km and is projected to cost an estimated ₹5,554.02 Crore. The project, aimed at improving connectivity and driving economic growth in the region, will be developed as a four-lane, access-controlled greenfield expressway under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model.

The northern section of the RRR will be developed in five distinct packages, each designed to focus on specific segments of the route. These packages include:

  • Package 1: Girmapur to Reddipalle (34.5 km) – ₹1,529.19 Crore
  • Package 2: Reddipalle to Islampur (26 km) – ₹1,114.8 Crore
  • Package 3: Islampur to Pragnapur (23 km) – ₹1,184.81 Crore
  • Package 4: Pragnapur to Rayagiri (43 km) – ₹1,728.22 Crore
  • Package 5: Rayagiri to Tangadpalle (35 km) – ₹1,547 Crore

The NHAI has set an ambitious target for completion, with a deadline of two years for the project’s construction. Additionally, the project will include a five-year maintenance period, ensuring that the infrastructure remains in top condition for the years to come.

With a focus on boosting regional connectivity and providing a robust infrastructure framework, this project is expected to significantly improve transportation across the northern stretch of the Regional Ring Road. By reducing congestion and facilitating smoother traffic flow, the RRR will enhance the overall economic development of the region, benefiting both local communities and businesses.

The deadline for submitting financial and technical bids for the project is set for February 14, 2024, with the bid openings scheduled for February 17, 2024. As the NHAI pushes ahead with this critical development, it marks a significant milestone in the country’s construction and infrastructure growth, particularly in the fast-developing region around Sangareddy and Choutuppal.

This initiative is expected to play a key role in the country’s broader infrastructure development plans, helping to ease road congestion and improve travel time, as well as offering an important avenue for future economic opportunities. The Regional Ring Road project underscores India’s commitment to creating sustainable and modern transportation networks that will contribute to its long-term development goals. For construction companies, suppliers, and stakeholders in the infrastructure industry, this is a crucial opportunity to participate in one of the largest upcoming projects in India. With its strategic importance, the RRR project is set to redefine connectivity and offer substantial benefits to the region.
