New Vande Bharat Trains Link Key Cities

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate three new Vande Bharat Express trains this Saturday, further expanding the fleet of this high-speed service to 54. The new routes include Chennai-Nagercoil, Madurai-Bengaluru, and Meerut-Lucknow, marking the debut of Vande Bharat services on these key corridors.

This expansion aims to significantly bolster regional connectivity and streamline travel across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. The Chennai-Nagercoil and Madurai-Bengaluru routes will cater to high-demand areas, linking the bustling temple city of Madurai with major urban centres. The Madurai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat will complete its journey in 7 hours and 45 minutes, with stops at several important cities including Dindigul and Salem. This service will support various segments including business travellers, students, and professionals commuting between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. On the other hand, the Chennai-Nagercoil service will cover 726 km, connecting the Tamil Nadu capital with the picturesque town of Nagercoil, enhancing accessibility for pilgrims and other passengers.

The new Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express is set to offer efficient travel between these two significant Uttar Pradesh cities, completing the trip in approximately 7 hours and 10 minutes. This route will provide crucial links for passengers travelling to and from Moradabad and Bareilly, bolstering connectivity within the state. Since its inception in 2019, the Vande Bharat Express has become synonymous with speed, comfort, and modernity in Indian rail travel, transforming the passenger experience and extending its reach across the country. This latest addition to the Vande Bharat fleet reaffirms the Indian Railways’ commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and improving the travel experience for millions of passengers.
