New Delhi Rubber manufacturer Gayatri Rubbers secures Rs 2.39 cr railway and Defrail orders
Gayatri Rubbers and Chemicals Limited has recently secured substantial new orders valued at over ₹1.05 crore from both the Ministry of Railways – Indian Railways and Defrail Technologies Limited. This significant development underscores the company’s pivotal role in supplying critical components to India’s burgeoning rail infrastructure and other industrial sectors. The contracts, which stipulate a swift 60-day fulfilment period, highlight the increasing reliance on domestic manufacturing capabilities to support the nation’s ambitious development goals, including the creation of more sustainable and efficient urban transport networks.
The larger of the two contracts, valued at ₹65,02,160.50, was awarded by Defrail Technologies Limited for the provision of EPDM Rubber Gaskets and Neoprene Sponge Rubber Gaskets. Concurrently, the Ministry of Railways – Indian Railways placed an order worth ₹40,29,196.14 for the same specialised rubber products. These gaskets are fundamental to the operational integrity and longevity of various railway systems, playing a crucial role in sealing, dampening vibrations, and ensuring the smooth functioning of rolling stock and infrastructure. Their consistent supply is vital for maintaining the safety and efficiency of train operations across the expansive Indian railway network.
Gayatri Rubbers and Chemicals Limited (GRCL), which evolved from the proprietorship firm Goyal Rubbers, has established itself as a prominent manufacturer and supplier within the rubber industry. The company’s diverse product portfolio includes a range of rubber profiles, aluminium rubber profiles, automobile rubber profiles, and rubber compounds. GRCL’s strategic positioning is further evidenced by its robust supply chain, sourcing raw materials such as natural rubber and EPDM rubber from Kerala, and other essential components from Gujarat and Delhi NCR.
