Pune: In a significant change to public transport logistics, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) and Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) have relocated the airport feeder bus services from Ramwadi Metro Station to the newly operational Yerawada Metro Station. This shift marks the end of the feeder bus services running from Ramwadi, enhancing connectivity for air travellers.
With the Yerawada Metro station now operational, commuters will benefit from a more streamlined route to Pune Airport. Previously, passengers had to travel to Ramwadi for airport-bound services; now, they can conveniently board buses directly from Yerawada. The new arrangement promises to simplify travel by providing more direct access to the airport.
The frequency of the AC feeder buses from Yerawada Metro Station to the airport has been set at every 30 minutes, with services running until 10:10 p.m. daily. The buses will make stops at key locations, including GST Office, Nagpur Chawl, and 509 Chowk, catering to passengers along the route. According to a PMPML official, the journey from Yerawada to the airport typically takes between 15 and 20 minutes, with potential adjustments to the bus frequency based on passenger demand.
This strategic move is expected to improve the efficiency of airport transfers and offer a more convenient option for commuters. The relocation of services to Yerawada Metro Station not only optimises travel routes but also enhances the overall connectivity between the city and the airport, reflecting a concerted effort to streamline urban transport infrastructure.
