Residents of Navi Mumbai can now breathe a sigh of relief as the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has resolved technical issues with its QR code system, restoring the online water bill payment facility. The QR code payment method, which had been plagued by glitches, is once again operational, providing a hassle-free way for consumers to settle their dues conveniently from home.
The problem, which caused significant inconvenience, arose due to technical errors that prevented users from successfully scanning the QR codes. The municipal corporation promptly addressed complaints from residents, assigning its IT team to resolve the issue. According to an NMMC official, “The issue was resolved effectively, and consumers can now scan the QR codes without any difficulty. The system is functioning smoothly.” From December 4 onwards, consumers can use the QR code to make payments. The process involves scanning the code with a mobile device—using tools like Google Lens—to access the payment link. Once redirected, users are presented with multiple options for completing their transaction, ensuring convenience and ease of use.
The QR code is one of several online payment options provided by the NMMC to modernise and streamline municipal services. With this restoration, residents now have an efficient alternative to physically visiting municipal offices, reflecting the administration’s commitment to enhancing digital services. For further assistance or to report any issues with the payment system, residents can contact the NMMC Water Supply Department through its toll-free helpline numbers: 1800222309 and 1800222310. This initiative underlines the NMMC’s dedication to creating a seamless digital payment infrastructure for its citizens, fostering greater convenience and efficiency in municipal services.
