Navi Mumbai authorities have stepped up enforcement against unauthorised constructions with a focused demolition drive in the Turbhe division of Sanpada. Conducted on December 22, 2025, the operation removed eight newly erected illegal hutments on an open municipal plot, reinforcing the civic body’s commitment to urban planning regulations and protection of public land.
The initiative was carried out under the direction of the Municipal Commissioner, supported by senior officials overseeing encroachment management. Officials noted that the action reflects ongoing efforts to curb unplanned urban sprawl, preserve green and open spaces, and maintain orderly development in one of Navi Mumbai’s rapidly expanding residential hubs. Execution of the drive involved coordination between municipal staff and local police, with security deployment ensuring the exercise proceeded safely.
