Sources from the Pune Fire Brigade confirm a surge in distress calls, tallying a total of 23 reports delineating tree collapses between the hours of 3:30 PM and 7:25 PM on Thursday. Notable among the afflicted locales were Sahakar Nagar, Katraj, Sinhagad Road, Pune Satara Road, Model Colony in Shivaji Nagar, Kothrud, Karve Nagar, Koregaon Park, Bhavani Peth, Erandwane, F C Road, Tingre Nagar, Pashan Sus Road, Wadgaon Sheri, Senapati Bapat road, and Nana Peth area. The resultant chaos extended beyond mere foliage damage, as five automobiles bore the brunt of arboreal descent, succumbing to irreparable harm on D P Road in Karve Nagar.
Additional vehicular casualties were reported in Tejas Nagar, Kothrud, and near Sevasadan School in Erandwane, where two cars met their untimely demise under the weight of plummeting trees.
