Nara Lokesh Invites Uber to Launch Inland Waterways and Expand EV Fleet in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh’s IT and HRD Minister, Nara Lokesh, extended an invitation to Uber to introduce innovative solutions that would revolutionise the state’s transportation sector. During his meeting with Uber’s Vice President, Madhu Kannan, Lokesh proposed the introduction of inland waterways services along the state’s extensive network of rivers, canals, and lakes. This initiative is part of the state’s broader efforts to integrate sustainable transport solutions into urban infrastructure, aligning with global trends of environmental consciousness and innovation.
The invitation to Uber is particularly notable, given the potential of inland waterways to alleviate road congestion and provide an eco-friendly mode of transport.
