Nagpur’s water distribution system, operated by OCWL under contract with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), forms part of the city’s broader efforts to provide sustained potable water access, including partial implementation of a 24×7 supply project. Yet limited 24-hour coverage — with only a small fraction of households receiving continuous supply — alongside quality concerns and billing inconsistencies, has underscored infrastructure gaps facing residents.BJP legislators and local leaders have kept pressure on civic authorities, demanding not only corrections but also accountability from OCWL and more rigorous oversight of private water service contracts.
