Nagpur Koradi Naka to Get Y Shaped Flyover

To tackle traffic congestion and enhance road safety at the notorious Koradi Naka junction, authorities have initiated the construction of a ₹43.37 crore Y-shaped flyover on National Highway 47. The project aims to significantly improve traffic flow and reduce accidents at this busy intersection.

Preliminary demolition work has begun, with main construction slated to commence on June 20, 2025. The flyover will stretch over 1,090 metres, linking Farsa, Mahadula Railway Overbridge, and Bokhara Road, while also incorporating an underpass to facilitate uninterrupted movement. The current structure will be repurposed into a service road to accommodate local traffic needs. Koradi Naka has long been identified as a traffic “black spot” due to frequent jams and accidents, prompting urgent interventions.

The new flyover is expected to streamline vehicular movement and enhance commuter safety substantially. Alongside this, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has approved four foot overbridges at key locations on Koradi Road, including Modern School Square, Panjra Bus Stop, Shivaji Maharaj Square, and Koradi Bus Stop. These pedestrian crossings will further improve safety and accessibility in the area.

The entire flyover project is scheduled for completion by January 2026, promising relief to thousands of daily commuters and a safer transport environment in Nagpur.
